ID Camps are official scouting events run by IberCup where players showcase their talent in front of coaches and scouts. These camps are the first step into the IberSelect system, allowing scouts and coaches to evaluate players for state or regional team selection. Open to nominated, recommended or highly competitive players, the camps feature technical training, small-sided games, and expert coaching by high-profile coaches and international players.
IberSelect is IberCup’s elite player selection program and the starting point of the IberCup Pathway. It gathers top youth talent from across regions and countries to form State, Regional, and National teams that compete in high-level IberCup tournaments. The pathway opens doors to tryouts in clubs in Europe along with a gap year that can lead to professional contracts in Europe or scholarships at U.S. colleges, depending on the player’s goals and performance.
The IberSelect Pathway is a structured development system that identifies top youth soccer talent and offers international exposure through tournaments, elite training, and scouting opportunities. Players progress from local ID Camps to state, regional, and national teams, with the chance to play in prestigious IberCup tournaments. The pathway opens doors to club tryouts in Europe and a Gap Year program, both offering routes to professional contracts or U.S. college scholarships, depending on each player’s goals and performance.

ID Camps are hosted across key U.S. regions, East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, and Frontier, making it easy for players nationwide to participate. Each camp runs over two days, with 3 structured 2-hour sessions designed to give every player meaningful exposure and evaluation time.
Training is led by elite coaches, including Luis Dias, former Sporting CP Academy director and mentor to Cristiano Ronaldo. Players also benefit from direct interaction with international stars like Nani, who bring their experience and insight to the field. Sessions include high-level drills, tactical training, and game-like scenarios to challenge and grow each player.
Players are evaluated through a mix of technical drills, small-sided games (7v7), and real-game simulations. This multi-angle assessment allows our coaching staff to accurately evaluate each player’s skill set, decision-making, and game intelligence, providing a complete picture of their potential.
Players are grouped by age (2010 to 2018, boys and girls), with up to 200 players per camp. The best performers are selected for IberSelect State or Regional teams, earning a spot to represent their region in IberCup Holiday tournaments. After this first stage of observation in IberCup competition, the best players will be selected to take part in one of our ID National Camp. Special players that previously attended an IberSelect ID Camps can be invited to the National Team directly.
If you meet any of these conditions, you’re eligible to attend an ID Camp and be evaluated for selection:
Players nominated or recommended by coaches, team leaders, or ambassadors who work with IberSelect.
Players from ambassador clubs that partner with IberSelect to host ID Camps.
Players identified by IberSelect scouts during national competitions.
Players who weren’t scouted or recommended but currently play in top-level national competitions.
You applied online or via social media and meet the program’s minimum requirements. If needed, our team may request a video and confirm your level through local ambassadors.
To ensure the level of competition and maintain the quality of our ID Camps, each player application is reviewed based on the platform they currently compete in. Players who meet the criteria below are automatically approved:
Approved players to represent IberSelect will receive an email from our Technical Staff to schedule a call with the player and his family to give all the details and information so they can start the registration process.
The IberCup Tryouts give selected players the opportunity to train and showcase their talent in front of professional clubs in Portugal. This program is open only to players who have completed the IberSelect process and are ready to take the next step toward a potential professional career in Europe. Over a 10-day period, players will train and trial with 2 to 3 partner clubs in the Lisbon area, experiencing a real European football environment. The tryouts are tailored to each player’s level and include professional coaching, match participation, and direct exposure to club staff and scouts. While the program does not guarantee a contract, high-performing players may be tracked for future opportunities or, in some cases, directly offered a spot in a club’s academy system, depending on age, level, and FIFA transfer regulations.
